Recruitment & Selection


Odin consultants work with their clients across most functions and levels where personality can be the determining factor for success in a role. Our specialty is assisting our clients to “obtain the right people”.

Odin consultants are experienced business people and are encouraged to broaden their business exposure across industries and functions. This provides a balance of technical and commercial expertise which is valuable to our clients.

Odin utilises a structured process that includes the Prevue™ Assessment and Benchmarking system. Our goal is to represent our clients in a professional and ethical way, maintaining integrity about how we deal with candidates. Word of mouth is very important to us.

Odin only carries out recruitment and selection projects on an exclusive project by project basis.


The Typical Odin Process


1. Organisational analysis

Ensures that Odin understands its client’s business, the environment it operates in and the issues, both internal and external, that it faces.

2. Role Profiling

Maps out what the position’s key objectives are, the key duties, the KPIs, desired qualifications and experience. Odin will also complete a benchmark involving as many stakeholders a practical. This benchmark considers general abilities such as numerical, English and abstract reasoning, motivational factors and personality traits.

3. Search and/or Advertising

Odin will discuss and present its recommended method of reaching potential candidates. If advertising, Odin will formulate and place the advertisement in appropriate media.

4. Handling of Response

Odin is committed to utilising technology to streamline its processes and uses the latest candidate management system to ensure candidates are handled professionally and kept informed.

5. First Interviews

Odin will interview candidates that appear to meet the basic demand of the role.

6. Shortlist

Shortlisted candidates will be presented to the client including comprehensive consultant feedback.

7. Candidate Assessment

After the client has met the candidates, each of the short listed candidates will be invited to complete a full assessment.

8. Reference checking

This is conducted with at least 3 previous employers (if possible) and is carried out to ensure that the profile that has been determined through interview and assessment is indeed correct.

9. Recommendation and report

This is presented on the recommended candidate(s). In instances where there is more than one recommended candidate, the Odin consultant aasist client in making the final decision.

10. Final Interview

Client meets the recommended candidate(s). On occasion this may involve role plays, scenarios and presentations. Odin consultants can assist in the preparation of such exercises.

11. Job Offer, Salary and Contractual Negotiations.

Odin can assist with this function as required.

12. Induction discussions

These are held prior to the candidate commencing work to ensure that they can start to make an impact as soon as possible.

13. Follow up

Successful candidates are followed-up over the first twelve months to ensure their transition into the client organisation is as effective and efficient as possible, and the candidate's productivity is maximised. Where practical these are done face to face.

14. Executive Placements

This extension to the above recruitment and selection process includes a tailored personal development program utilising information gained during the employment process. This investment can be of great value in the employees first six months which are often the most difficult.
